My sister owns a picture framing shop in Albuquerque, NM and I manage her website. While looking for a graphic for a website banner I came across several images of views of Albuquerque looking out toward the Sandia Mountains. Suddenly I was creating this painting instead of updating her site. (Yes, the site got updated). This is created using digital artist media brushes and my Wacom tablet. There is no A.I. or photography involved - it's all hand rendered strokes so its created in much the same way a traditional painting is done but with different tools.
Because of my graphic design background, my artistic techniques lean heavily on digital techniques. While my imagery was a combination of photography, hand work, and overlays "back in the day" before computer graphics became the norm ...not much has changed. My techniques are based on digital tools now but the concepts of building the art are not that different. For the digital paintings you see in my collections I use a Wacom tablet with a pressure sensitive pen to hand draw in Photoshop using artist media brushes. Some of the images (florals) are manipulated photography but I don't consider myself a photographer. Instead I take photos of things that draw my attention and manipulate the image, or parts of the image, to create a work...
